Pavel Javornicky was born in 1932 in Prague, Czech Republic, which, at the time of his birth, was called Czechoslovakia. He earned his doctorate in biology at Caroline University in Prague and subsequently worked as a scientist at the Academy of Science in Prague. He spent one year at the University of California in Davis, where he worked with a team of scientists in the department of hydro-biology. Later in his life he became a pastor of the Evangelical Church "Církev Bratrská" (The Church of the Czech Brethren). He worked in that capacity till his retirement. He is the author of several books published in the Czech republic: Written in the Dust and The Resonant Stories (co-authored with his wife, Viera, ) and treatise where he deals with the problem of science and Christian belief, Faith and Science Are Not in Conflict.
