Angie and the Boys Downtown George Earl Wilson
Angie and the Boys Downtown
George Earl Wilson
In 1960, Reno, Nevada was THE PLACE. Gambling, parties, and the filming of "The Misfits" create the background for Angie, a cigarette girl at the Orchid Club, and other workers in the city as they navigate the challenges of life in the "biggest little city." Cocktail waitresses, a prostitute, and a craps dealer all work to survive while a local casino boss, the Detroit mob, a corrupt squad of police, and entitled rich artists run the town. "Angie and the Boys Downtown" features a slice-of-life look at Reno during the early sixties with colorful characters and the exciting backdrop of a booming gambling city which was also the quickie legal divorce mecca of the western world.
