Eagle Lake and Beyond is a Canadian collection of poetry from the heart of Ontario, Canada's lakelands. Covent probes identity, sorrow, and relationships between people, and between her and the land she was born on. A fan of Atwood, Michaels, and Bukowski, Covent has a way of telling it like it is in honest and intimate language, surprising the reader with insights and wisdom in every piece. Poems are not exclusive to the North; there are pieces about urban living, animals, and family. A teacher's guide to one of the poems has been included at the end of this book, geared to the Ontario curriculum.
