Deward returns to London at the request of King George II to work as a cook in the kitchen of Kensington Palace. One morning when delivering breakfast, Deward interrupts an assassination attempt on the king. He twarts the attempt and is rewarded with a trip to his village on the Nabi River. While visiting the Nabi village, he is captured by slave traders and put on a ship to be sold in the slave markets of the New Colonies.
