Zari Pennington, a 28-year-old baby-faced woman built like an Amazon, applies for a barman job in Brooklyn in order to fund the number one item on her bucket list: Shark diving in the South Pacific. Dark, handsome, but reserved bar owner Mort Bonagerges, 30, is hesitant about hiring her, since he has sworn off women for the rest of his life, if not longer. But his favorite customer and father figure, Walter, doesn't allow him to let Zari slip through his fingers. Grudgingly, Mort points out the word 'barman' on the Help Wanted sign, and hires her on a trial basis. Soon it becomes clear that Zari is a godsend, not only because she is a hard worker and open-minded about a no-strings-attached fling every time it rains, but also because she is truly interested in helping Mort overcome his debilitating anxiety of thunderstorms, as well as helping her boss go after his own deeply buried dream...
