Things You Didn't Tell Your Father
Hugo H Blanco
This book sets the plot on the lack of communication between parents and children. They do this appealing to a very clever literary device: a father suffers a stroke and remains in a comma at a hospital. Nevertheless, he can hear all what his children talk about him. He can as well remember everything. Thus, the main character, Jorge, while trying to find a reason out the odd situation he is going through, starts to recall his life, from his childhood and adolescence in Cuba, to his departure to the United States and the beginning of a new stage of life together with his wife and children, in which, of course, family conflicts will spring out.
