The Old Families find themselves battling settlers arriving in waves from the East, squatting on their ranch lands and challenging Land Grants bestowed by the King of Spain himself.


Searching for answers, Steele is led to Santa Fe. He discovers that many of the men he'd fought with in the War had recently been murdered.


Someone powerful is seeking revenge.
