"Tales Told Along the Way" is a collection of thirteen short stories, a Baker's Dozen. The stories have their genesis from stories heard over a nearly fifty year period living and working in several western states. Most are owed to friends and colleagues who spun a good yarn. Most are a celebration of the earliest and still vital form of human entertainment, telling a good story. The majority of the thirteen pieces are framed in their particular setting before the tale teller spins their story. In many opportunity is taken to include description of the natural beauty of the scenes where the story is set. Three stories depart from this general pattern to describe local historical figures and events from an earlier time in the west. These few provide an insight into the rough and tumble nature of a Montana town that developed into a sophisticated ski destination.
