A wide ranging soliloquy by an average citizen with more years than he can count, viewing an ever changing world. Sometimes laconic, often very blunt comments, perhaps a bit sarcastic and with a trace of humor that may be, to some, be a bit quirky. A travel through past decades, bringing reminiscences to a few but probably reason to disagree to many others. Caustic but commonsense. Mercurial perhaps, yet things that happened long ago, important, but to today's younger generations - they may no longer care. Enough opinions to create a lot of debate. Answers to stated national or local problems? Never happen since the writer narrates but doesn't feel he's qualified to pretend that much knowledge and foresight. A full menu of evident fact battered by a lot of personal observation, sentiment, perception, assumption and what we all must admit - and endure - personal bias. Perhaps a few jabs in the solar plexus of the privileged. A book for those who read and understand; listen and hear - probably leaving out three quarters of Congress and half of the Harvard Alumni Association.
