A Treatise on Life during the late 1800s"La Madonna - Pass Christian," a publication by Dan Ellis, is a "brought back" book from the public domain as originally written in 1891 by George Ormsley entitled "The Madonna of Pass Christian."This new release is about a Victorian Age damsel who is impressed by her suitor who beguiles the young miss - much in the manner of the serpent upon Eve. The story moves from New Orleans and the Mardi Gras to Pass Christian when steamships and trains brought Orleanians and upstate planters to enjoy the relaxed entertainment provided at Gulf Coast hotels. Ellis maintains and captures much of the original prose for its richness that was a literary standard of an era gone by. However, in accordance with his prolific writings about community heritage, the book includes photographs from the late 1800s and early 1900s that are offered to enhance the Reader's interest as each chapter unfolds.
