Who is this book for? This book is intended for B1 to C1 level ESL students who wish to improve their Knowledge on phrasal verbs, idioms and idiomatic phrases. Phrasal verbs are multi - word phrases which consist of a verb + adverb or verb + preposition or verb +adverb + preposition. They cannot be translated literally. They have an idiomatic meaning. Why are they important? They are important because they are used so frequently in English. To enable you to master the language, you should have a sound knowledge of everyday language spoken by native speakers of the English language. What are idioms? Idioms are groups of words which have an idiomatic meaning. The words, just like with phrasal verbs, cannot be translated individually.
