Geraldo Espinoza-Cruz is a man with a dilemma. He's a person of little faith, which always disappointed his Christian parents. Now his skepticism about Jesus Christ is also a source of heartache for his believing wife, Meghan. Their differences about faith are causing them serious conflicts and eroding their marriage.



One night, after Meg uses the claims in the book What If Jesus Had Never Been Born?to try and convince her husband, they have a ferocious argument. Jerry, as she calls him, storms off to bed. When Meghan enters their bedroom, she finds him motionless, with her book open on his chest. She checks on him to make sure he's fine, then goes to sleep herself.



What Meghan doesn't know is that Jerry has traveled to that frightening place where the Savior never existed. Some may call it a bad dream, but others Hell itself. The air is filled with the stench of rotting animal flesh, starving children are being beaten, and all around him abandoned souls are searching in vain for rescue. As he stumbles through a land without God, contending with the very demons he faced in his own world, Jerry endures a journey that terrifies him-but will it renew his faith?
