It brings the reader down to depths of complete loss of self-love and then up through self-realization and true ah-ha moments of awakening. Clayton's first book is a retrospective look at his life. Working through the experiences that helped form his story; he looks deep into his addictions, and interactions with other people. Through these writings and a growing understanding of what it means to live a life in recovery he uses his story to form questions about his own actions in the past as well as the present. In doing so he begins to create a philosophy based in the importance of being present each day. He looks at the meaning of love, faith, and hope. Clayton believes everyone is a work in progress just as he is, while expressing the importance he has found in continually evaluating and progressing through such work. Clayton is not a doctor or counselor. He holds no degrees. What he does possess is his own experience and an ability to take inventory of those fleeting moments in his life honestly. The ideas that continue to bring happiness and contentment in his life are shared openly with the reader.
