This book presents counting as a mind-provoking process - it is doing - not just saying. Reciting some numerals in correct sequence is not necessarily effective counting. Forward and reverse counting are done using positive and negative integers and proper fractions. Sets of equations are formulated and used as technical descriptions for each counting process. Each set of equations involves the use of all arithmetic operators. Counting, as presented, efficiently re-enforces arithmetic principles.
