When Anne agreed to run off and elope with her childhood crush, Joe Pussio, she never expected to be given the chance to see so much of the country. Then again, most of what she'd seen thanks to corporate America, she didn't particularly like, and she longed to find a way to return to her North Carolina roots. Anne and Joe's children, Maggie and Nick had also been swept along on their father's corporate merry-go-round, and like their mother, they wanted to find a place to call home. Joe, meanwhile, just wanted to provide a good life for his family, and if that meant navigating a winding career path to the edges of what his family considered civilization, then so be it. White Knights follows the Pussio family's personal and professional journey from the sandhills of North Carolina to the shores of Lake Erie to the mountains of Appalachia. Set against the backdrop of small-town America in the mid-80's, the story paints a picture of what happened when blue-collar ideals intersected with white collar greed and how two men's game of corporate chess altered the lives of thousands of unsuspecting people. Oh, and there's a whole bunch of funny anecdotes about Nick playing football and trying to fit in and failing miserably at understanding teenaged girls. And yes, everything actually happened. Kind of.
