This book is not so much a memoir as a guidebook intended to accompany and encourage those who have been newly diagnosed with cancer. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 21 and while it was initially a severe shock, going through a battle with cancer changed me in ways that I never could have imagined. We all face moments in our lives that force us to reach our full potential, and I believe that this battle with cancer will do just that. I went into my own battle as a sensitive and fragile girl and came out as a strong and determined warrior. I trace the stages of treatment, offering understanding of your emotional turmoil, as well as offering specific advice about how to cope with demanding treatment and stay positive throughout the medical process. I also discuss universal themes of suffering, fear, transformation, and hope that will provide a thoughtful discussion for any reader.
