We've all been there: the place we don't want to be - that sort of dark place. The people who offered their life stories of such places as contributions for this book wanted to share theirs. The hope was doing so would make life easier. Think of it as excising these sort of dark places ... as much as making them public could do that. The book is cathartic. Not just for them, but for you as the reader. Your sort of dark place may not be exactly the same as one of theirs, but you may find theirs resonates with you and frees you emotionally, even if just a little.
