Mental illness is on the rise worldwide and has affected the lives of millions of people of all ages. Since the first early diagnoses, many types of mental illnesses have been defined that were previously unknown. Bipolar disorder is such an illness, and it is one that Dana Wall knows well. As a hyperactive "busy" kid with undiagnosed ADHD and an overabundance of energy, Dana's life was good and filled with fun. But as time passed, Dana found himself struggling with bouts of mania, depression, and mixed bipolar episodes, all of which nearly destroyed him and the successful life he'd built. But with the guidance and support of excellent health professionals, not to mention a good head on his own shoulders, Dana was able to take control of what is a very misunderstood illness. "The Busy Kid" is one man's story of the challenges and triumphs from a life lived with bipolar disorder, and proof that even with mental illness, people can live happy, meaningful lives.
