Acceptance, repression, denial, and rebellion: These are terms commonly used to describe how adults cope with surviving an abusive childhood. They can all prove effective when strategically applied, but often leave victims without closure- an essential part of the healing process. Victims are often taught to "forgive and forget," or to "let bygones be bygones." We're told not to speak of our past, and that we should just "get over it" and move on with our lives. But some crimes cannot be forgiven, because they will never be forgotten! Survivors of child abuse and neglect are often left to struggle through what remains of their lives without assistance or affection, without tolerance or acceptance, and without education or guidance. While navigating the difficulties gifted to me for surviving my violent birthright, I discovered the one thing that would bring my disadvantaged upbringing to a satisfying end: Retaliation! This book was written in direct, non-violent response to the abuse I suffered as a child. The perpetrators were never held accountable by a court of law, but they will be remembered by the strength of my conviction as I wield a weapon that will outlast the living, and never runs out of ammunition.
