STEAM English - Grade 5 Breadster Inc

This STEM project is an adaptation of the constellation myths. In this project, students will read about constellations such as Aries, Tarus, Gemini, Cygnus the Swan, Draco the Dragon, Orion the Hunter, Ursa the Bear and Virgo the Woman (great astonomy, astrology and cultural lessons!) while stopping to design models of constellations for reinforcement of the language learning. The whole project culminates in the students taking their knowledge about constellations, and designing a Planetarium experience for their parents. Students will be asked to brainstorm, prototype, gain feedback, and do iterations of creative designs for their planetarium. The projects, readings and activities included in this bundle work perfectly as a complete curricular unit, or stand-alone lessons. NEXT GEN Science Standards (Grade 3-5): 3-5-ETS1-1.
