In the fall of 1097 Antioch blocks the crusaders path to Jerusalem. It must be captured by siege. After Jerome escaped slavery in Anatolia he joined the army of Franks from Provence and commanded a small troop of soldiers. Outside of Antioch Jeromes's warriors block a Muslim attack on the crusader camp. Jerome is knighted. His challenges become greater as a Muslim relief arm march toward them. During the battle of Lake Antioch where Jerome kills the Muslim's commander's son that blunts their attack. Now Jerome is rewarded with a wife..a rich widowed aristocrat who considers Jerome a lowly peasant. It is another problem.
