In Braylon-Fair, a young boy named Etan finds a shiny blue stone that legend says will lead the finder to a blue dragon egg. Believing it has magical powers, Etan uses the stone to heal a sick friend. News of the miracle healing reaches King Salunka, supreme ruler of Braylon. Convinced the boy to be a wizard, the King sends his army to capture Etan . . . but things don't go as planned. Etan's powers alert him of the soldiers' approach, and with the help of his friends, Kiki and Nik, he escapes King Salunka's trap. Fleeing across the continent, he stays one step ahead of the soldiers, Mandos, and wizards sent to capture him.
