Charleston, South Carolina, 1863. Confederate Captain Thomas Altman has been assigned to investigate the murder of a fellow soldier. Although the killing appears to be a robbery gone wrong, he soon learns there is more to this crime than meets the eye. Meanwhile, Rhett LaCroix leads a double life in the city. He's a loan officer by day, Union spy by night. Employing whatever means necessary, he will stop at nothing to help his comrades defeat the Confederacy. These two men will find in each other an adversary neither wanted nor expected.
