Charlotte Fawcett is still reeling from the mental and physical trauma she suffered in the hand of a person she loved, adored and worshipped. Her life was turned upside down about two and a half years ago. She reminisces about her beautiful family and her childhood, her love and romance and the sudden disappearance of her father Andrew a few weeks before her wedding. They say when a door closes, another one opens up but the Fawcett family would beg to differ. A closely knit family with innumerous fond memories find themselves in an awful fix when Andrew goes missing. The only clues and hopes are letters from him every two months. As we follow the subtle hints in his letters, we find ourselves dealing with bigger problems than imagined. Andrew's abduction is not the only misfortune the Fawcett's are battling. Charlotte's mother Emily is struck down by breast cancer. A part of the story unfolds in Emily's diaries written in the hospital while she was waiting for treatment. A touching tale with incidents making you laugh and cry with every recollection. This story is a roller coaster of feelings and suspense that keeps you guessing and wanting more till the very end. The story comes to an end in a dramatic and unexpected climax. It shows just how far and strong the roots and bonds of love go and how it makes you go to any length in order to protect the ones you treasure the most.
