The Bible bears record that Mary was the mother of Jesus. However, the modern image of Mary has grown to include honors such as "the Queen of Heaven." Is this modern image from the Bible? Or, has this image been engineered from ancient myths of goddesses? According to the Roman Catholic Church, Mary is not only queen of Heaven, but also is mother of God, was immaculately conceived, and was bodily raptured to Heaven. Roman Catholics, including the pope, pray to Mary. Such accolades are appropriate only for God. In fact, they are shockingly similar to the characteristics of the ancient goddess Diana. Jeremiah 7:16-18 (KJV) 16Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. 17Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. The Bible certainly speaks of a "queen of heaven." Concerning this title, the Biblical report is not good. God states those who worship this queen provoke Him to anger. Obviously, God did not establish the office of queen of heaven, and He did not promote anyone to that rank. Yet, the Roman Catholic Church has created that office, and without God's approval or Mary's approval, for that matter, installed Mary into it.
