The 16th Century is a time of evil and witchcraft throughout Europe. When dark forces begin to plague Scotland, King James employs a witch-hunter, Griogair Blackburn, to discover why a malignant book, The Devil's Word, has surfaced in the land. Blackburn finds an ally in a white-witch named Dawn who helps him face the growing contamination and perversion spreading over the realm. Should they fail, Christianity will be turned on its head and the course of humankind altered forever.
