Steve's band of survivors find temporary shelter in a remote hunting cabin when Steve develops a life-threatening infection. Amid the relief of Steve's recovery, they are forced to move on. Brian Jameson, Liz's husband, with a young recruit, Billy Walker, and a small group of survivors from San Antonio continue their trek west. When faced with the injustice of other, Brian's journey to reunite with his family is interrupted.
