From the next generation of poets determined to make a difference in the world using the written word comes this unique collection of verse dedicated to exploring their feelings on everything from pets, sports, families and friendships. The Underground Poets, a group of fourth and fifth graders who met monthly in a classmate's basement with author and teacher Ann Marie Stephens, sent their best work to print to be shared worldwide. Using author Kwame Alexander's, The Write Thing, the Poets experimented with different forms of poetry and verse to create a masterpiece.
