Krystyna, or Kitty as she is known, born to a loving and well-respected family, is enjoying a summer in the country. It is August 1939 and the carefree days are filled with fun and laughter.




On September 1st of that year, Kitty's life and the life of her family are shaken by the invasion of Poland by the German forces.

Nothing will be the same ever again.




Fearless, Kitty begins to work for the "Organization" carrying out duties of a messenger until the danger of her work puts her and her family in peril.

Leaving her beloved city is the only option for her safety, and she begins the long struggle to stay alive in the midst of these uncertain times.

As war takes its toll on the country, the German forces are met by the Russian troops and the political chess game which will eventually enslave Poland as a Communist State begins. Kitty is taken prisoner by NKVD and her life in "hell" will test the strength of her body and spirit.




It is 1951 and Poland, as it slowly begins to rebuild its charred remains, is in the iron grip of the Communist government.

She is taken from her home and a long and horrifying journey back to freedom shakes her world once again.
