The Messenger of Love
Stella Longland
The story opens with the disarticulated bones of an ancestor falling into the dreaming body of the narrator. The bones are the gift of an ancient, unknown Grandfather. Honoured and bemused, the narrator follows where her trance experiences lead her. Through the Grandfather, the Girl, the Horse, the Red Centre of Australia, Snake power, a Peace Being, and the activation of previously unknown energy centres, the narrative weaves both daily life and altered-state 'realities' into a beguiling story of awakening. Helped by the meltdown of her previous world-view, living Teachers, dancing in ceremony and encounters with the incomprehensible, at the end of the book the narrator finds herself with a new job.
Taken from personal experiences, the book is an engaging read. There is no attempt to explain or to teach, just to present a different asset of consciousness.
The lights of day and night are important in a world of visioning and a light calendar is incorporated in the text to demonstrate their relationship. Twenty-two further pictures also illustrate the text.
