Yet there has been and certainly continues to be a defaulters penal law, and its region of competence is not reduced to punishment found under labor law and bankruptcy, but extends in all possibility further from the obligation to support from hit-and-run offences right up to fraud and deception. On the basis of a theory of standards, in which the subjective creditor laws and criminal offenses directly intersect with each other, Andreas Popp analyses the accumulated data regarding the legal treatment of creditors in German penury law since the Penal Code of 1871 and the ideological and jurisprudential problems that are bound up with it.
