The Problem of Being handicapped in the Novel Entitled ´Der Rumpf´ by Akif Pirinçci. , Abstract: In this study the novelist Akif Pirinçci's novel entitled "Der Rumpf" (Body) has been analysed and the problem of "being handicapped" which is the major motif of the novel has been scrutinised. Almost all the figures in the novel are either physically or mentally handicapped. The novelist has fore grounded the symbolical meaning in the motif of being handicapped and has made the delicate duality between the good and the bad as the basis and as a result has wanted the victory of the good.
