Identifying cardiac patients that are at increased risk of suffering adverse cardiovascular events due to thrombosis or bleeding complications is therefore a major target and new methods to provide this information are required. The overall haemostatic potential (OHP) assay is a simple global method that might be helpful in the assessment of haemostatic imbalances.
