Biometrical Techniques of Quantitative Traits: Biometrical Analysis
Anil Deb
The low income groups of Bangladesh are suffering from malnutrition due to deficiency of protein. Due to high price of animal protein, most of the people of our country are not able to purchase it. Pulses are the cheapest source of protein. It is easily available to meet up their protein requirements. Among pulses, chickpea is the fourth major pulse crop of Bangladesh. But due to adverse environment in Bangladesh its production decreases each year. In this context we have to need to develop suitable and sustainable chickpea varieties. Researches of breeding experiment don?t get any success without applying biometrical methods. Considering above points the book is made following different biometrical approaches in three chapters. In chapter-I, component of variation, coefficient of variability, heritability, genetic advance, correlation, path-coefficients and selection index are included. Chapter-II includes genotype-environment interaction and Chapter-III includes genetic control.
