Sweet sorghum ? A crop of wonder? for its diverse use for food, feed, fodder, alternative for sugar production during lean period and fuel (bio-ethanol) along with a wider adaptability because of drought tolerant nature could be crop of future in scenario of climate change and increasing threats in food security caused by the use of food grains to produce bio-fuel. Just like other crops, management practices like crop geometry, sowing times has tremendous influence on performance of sweet sorghum varieties. June 15 sown crop at 60 cm row spacing and adoption of SSV 74 sweet sorghum variety is better option over April 15, May 15 sowing times, 45 cm row spacing and SSV 84, NTJ 2 varieties to sustain higher ethanol yield has been observed in the present study at Pantnagar conditions in India in 2009.
