Three decades of careless withdrawal of ground water resulted in chronic arsenic exposure in Bangladesh which is regarded as the biggest mass poisoning in the history of mankind. People in the contaminated area are exposed to arsenic not only through drinking contaminated water but also by eating contaminated food. The incidence of diseases due to chronic arsenic poisoning is getting increased day by day. The book dealt firstly with the severity of arsenic poisoning in the contaminated areas of Bangladesh through dietary intake. Secondly, the health risk due to arsenic exposure was assessed using PBPK model. There was an effort to generate database for the contamination level of arsenic in different food stuffs. The book will certainly provide useful information to the researchers, nutritionists and development workers of the relevant fields. The book will gain interest of the general readers as well.
