Medicinal plants and their bioactive constituents have been extensively used as alternative biomedicine for better control and management of diabetes without any side effects. India has ancient herbal treatment methods where traditional alternative medicines are popularly practiced among a large segment of its population. Although several medicinal plants have gained importance for the treatment of diabetes, many areas like the activity and efficiency of drugs are still remaining and yet to be scientifically investigated.
