Dedicated to those who have a thrust to know the vultures more closely, in the heart of this book will give a great experience and informations. The book illustrates the study carried out at the Vulture Conservation Breeding Centre, Pinjore, Haryana, India. This is the World?s first centre where three critically endangered Gyps species of vultures are kept in captivity after a catastrophic decline happened in the wild due to the NSAID drug, Diclofenac. The entire study was carried out by observing the birds in the three Colony Aviaries (30.48x6.09x12.19m) through the Close Circuit Television Camera monitors. The study happen to be done on three main aspects of the behavioural ecology viz perch utilization, feeding ecology and breeding biology of the vultures in captivity. However this is the first scientific study in India done on the captive vultures.
