Despite of the fact that the Government of Tanzania through the National Environmental Management Council (NEMC) and environmental ambassadors has been advocating for environmental preservation, however, the problem still continues to persist in Tanzania and worldwide. Therefore, this study aimed at investigating the factors which have influence on environmental degradation in rural areas. Various human factors which vary in nature and scope drive, influence and affect environment at global, regional, national and local levels. The study analyses the social economic factors that contribute to environmental degradation, like poverty, lack of education, poor farming activities, deforestation, over grazing, population growth, industrial activities, myopic policies, and uncontrolled excavation of soil. As we always keep our concern on how urban areas are destructed by human activities, it?s the time now to turn around and look back where everything people use in urban areas come from, where primary production is done, rural areas.
