However, forests worldwide are being threatened by uncontrolled degradation and conversion to other forms of land uses, influenced by increasing human needs; agricultural expansion; and environmentally harmful mismanagement. Mankind must strike a balance between his needs and forest conservation, or face the adversity of a degraded environment.
