Timetabling has become an unavoidable problem in academic institutions; Timetable committees in academic institutions have found it painstakingly difficult to manually formulate their school examination and lectures timetables. It is with this in mind that i have selected the Federal University of Technology, Yola as a case study in designing an automated timetable formulation application software. This software is an effective, user-friendly, and yet simple GUI for users who intend to maximize their lecture and examination timetables. in other words, the software will help users(lecturers and students) view their timetable slots with ease. The automated timetabling system is an application designed to provide the user with the flexibility and ease of allocating venue(s) and lecture(s) hours to course lecturers, amongst other constraints that would be satisfied. The main aim of this paper is to discuss a stand-alone application software that would facilitate the automation of timetable scheduling process in the federal university of technology, Yola. Visual studio 2008, ASP. NET, and css codes were used in the development of the software.
