Efficacy of Ayurveda in the Management of Psoriasis: Psoriasis and Panchakarma Lalchand Jaiswal

Psoriasis is a chronic and frequently recurring disease which is very difficult to treat. In the present treatment, there are number of hazardous side effects. These factors persuaded the need of Ayurvedic drug research in psoriasis. In Kushtha Chikitsa, Charaka has prescribed repeated shodhana karma to cure the disease. Also the better effect of shamana drugs, given after shodhana karma emphasizes the efficacy of Panchakarma. The book deals with the role of classical Ayurvedic line of treatment in management of psoriasis which starts with shodhana (bio-purification) and shaman(Suppressing) therapy. Hope this book will be helpful to the researchers.
