Over the last few years, the use of proteomics applications in order to study and characterize human pathologies has increased exponentially. Nowadays, the attention is particularly focused on the discovery of tumour biomarkers. Cancer takes millions of life each year, mainly because the disease is often detected too late. This book, therefore, provides a new approach focusing the attention on a strictly related sample with the tumour micro-environment, such as pancreatic cystic fluid, increasing the probability of finding proteins involved in a malignant transformation of the lesions.
