In this book, the author investigates the effects of watching English-language movies on EFL learners. This book has been designed with the purpose of helping English teachers bring authentic and real-world materials into their classrooms; moreover, it elaborates on various steps to be taken by teachers at the time of viewing a movie to learners in the classroom. It also assists learners in discovering what movie subtitles (L1 or L2) and genres facilitate the process of learning English and lead to effective learning even when they watch English-language movies by themselves at home. This book encompasses three sections of learners' motivation, movie subtitles, and movie genres. In the first part, the author uncovers how watching English-language movies brings about motivation in learners to learn English; furthermore, he determines different kinds of motivation and the one that plays the most important role in learners when they watch a movie. Then, according to the data gathered, the author specifies the most advantageous subtitle and popular movie genres among EFL learners.
