The Environmental Issues of the Fosu Lagoon in Cape Coast
Charles Peprah
Industrial establishments like saw mills were found along the lagoon which was polluting the environment. This makes the environment an eye sore and a sorry place to live. Rules and regulations should be put in place to protect the lagoon from pollution. Also, sediment traps and gritting should be provided in drains leading into the lagoon. This will stop refuse from getting into the lagoon. Small scale industries along the lagoon should be relocated to reduce the extent of pollution of the lagoon. It is believed that when these measures and others are adhered to the extent of pollution will be minimised, if not completely eradicated.
