Dna Binding and Micellar Loading of Anti-cancer Uracil Derivatives: Photochemistry and Electrochemistry of Potential Anticancer Drugs
Fateen Zafar
In the present work, characterization using electrochemical technique in conjunction with electronic spectroscopy and computational studies was done to suggest a redox mechanism and to develop a structure activity relationship. DNA binding studies showed high values of binding constant that is suggestive of uracils being more effective anticancer drugs in comparison to the clinically used drugs. In the last part of the work i.e. Drug Surfactant interaction, the strategy adopted for high drug loading of these anti cancerous drugs and sustained release capabilities of the carrier will help improve the uptake of these drugs by the tumor cells leading to a considerable improvement in the cancer treatment at the preclinical stage.
