Pgpr and Bioinoculants: a Treasury for Agricultural Crops
Asmita Selkar
The study of effect of PGPR and other bio inoculants on the growth and yield of Cicer arietinum Linn. proves that use of PGPR along with other bio inoculants is more beneficial in increasing the crop yield as compared to single treatment of other bioinoculants . The effect was observed on different vegetative and reproductive parameters of Cicer arietinum Linn. and the best results were recorded in mixed treatment of Rhizobium, PSB and PGPR as compared to single treatment of bio inoculants. Thus, this study reveals that the farmers who routinely use physical and chemical approaches to manage the soil environment and to improve crop yield, the application of PGPR along with other bio inoculants proves to be more beneficial. The main objective of this study was screening of effect of PGPR alone and in combination with other bio inoculants like Rhizobium, PSB on growth and yield of Cicer arietinum Linn. In order to find a alternative for chemical approaches and to increase the agricultural production, use of PGPR along with other bio inoculants is more beneficial in order to get optimum production and environmental sustainability.
