Some Managment & Production Aspects of Camel Rearing in Gedarif- Sudan Yousif Abdalatif

Camel husbandry is one of the most important economic and social activities in Gedarif State-eastern Sudan on which a large number of the rural population depend for their livelihood. A Survey of camel rearing practice in Gedarif State has been carried out with examples on management and production . Recently in Gedarif state , it is clear that camel rearing as a profitable business depend mainly on the number of camels reared ; the larger the number of the camel herds ; the more profitable it becomes and this is why the more rich farmers( semi -nomads) are becoming increasingly more important camel producers than the other poor group(nomads).
