Thermophillic bacteria was screened from the soils of Jaipur, Jodhpur & Jaisalmer districts of Rajasthan. These bacteria showed a temperature range of 40?C to 78?C for their growth. The bacteria isolated from Jaisalmer soil showed amylase positive raction, whereas from Japiur & Jodhpur soil, negative result at a specific temperature. Bacteria isolated from soils of Jaipur, Jodhpur & Jaisalmer showed negative results for catalase test. Bacteria isolated from Jaipur , Jodhpur & Jaisalmer soil are having gram negative short rod shape. The bacteria from Jaipur & Jodhpur soil are showing positive result for endospore staning but that from Jaisalmer is showing negative result. Bacteria isolated from the soils of Jodhpur and Jaisalmer are showing negative results for Indole and Methyl Red test, where as a positive result for Voges-Proskauer test. Bacteria isolated from the soil of Jaipur is showing negative results for Indole and Voges-Proskauer test, where as a positive result for Methyl Red test. All the thermophilic bacteria isolated from the above mentioned districts of Rajasthan are showing good results for acid and alkaline phosphatase enzyme production & some with amylases.
