Although there has been much publicity about the Internet, research focusing on it is still relatively sparse. Much of the existent research on the internet has been predicated upon data collected in Europe and USA. To date, there is a dearth of published studies on the internet in the Asian context. This study examines gender differences in internet usage in Islamabad, Pakistan. Data were collected on internet users via a questionnaire survey. 100 usable responses were received, of which 68% were males and 32% were females. Gender differences in terms of the demographic profile of internet users, usage patterns, task preferences and factors affecting an enjoyable Internet experience are examined. This survey was done for the course of Research Methodology of the partial fulfillment of Telecom & Networks Engineering degree. This monograph is First Part in a series which is being Published Internationally by the Author.
